Exam Period: Invigilators needed for Fall semester – estimated dates September 1, 2026 - December 18, 2026
Position Summary:

Number of Invigilators: 15 (estimated)

*This exam will be held on Montreal Campus, building location(s) to be confirmed.  Must be available to work during the day as the majority of exams are from 7:45 AM to 4 PM.

* A single examination shift shall be the minimal appointment and shall consist of the duration of the examination as determined by the Hiring Unit plus at least one (1) hour but not less than actual time worked.

Job Description: Responsible for setting up the examination room according to specific requirements as well as ensuring that equipment and facilities are functioning properly. Administers the delivery of the electronic and paper exams and documentation accordingly. Handles students’ problems and directs them to IT support or Chief Exam Invigilator as needed. Responsible to report any behavior by students or others that does not comply with University regulations. Ensures that all mobile and web‐accessible electronic devices are collected from the students prior to the start of the examination and returned upon their departure. Ensures that students are accompanied to the washroom. Alerts professor or Chief Exam Administrator when students have a question. At the end of the examination period, collects all exam materials and ensures nothing is left behind in the examination room(s). Responsible for reporting back to the professor or Chief Exam Administrator and ensuring delivery of the exams.

*An Employee that holds more than one position at the University must inform their supervisor in writing, on the application form or during the course of the Employee’s appointment, of any other assignments presently held at the University, article 11.02.01.

*If you are selected to be an Invigilator, please be advised that you will not yet be confirmed a shift. The allocation of a shift will be in accordance to article 13.01 in the Invigilation Collective Agreement whereby selected Invigilators will be confirmed a shift based on priority pool and availability.

Other Qualifying Skills and Abilities:

Must be client‐focused and service oriented. Punctual. Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills, and an ability to transmit and receive information accurately. Demonstrated ability to listen and efficiently assist clients with problems. Ability to follow instructions and to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to act in an acceptable manner so as not to disrupt students writing the exams. English, spoken and read. French an asset.
Qualifications:
High School Leaving Certificate/Diploma (minimum requirement).
