JOB FUNCTION
Viking is looking for an Investor Relations Professional to support our operational due diligence (“ODD”) and investor communications efforts. The Investor Relations Professional will be involved in all aspects of ODD and work collaboratively with other members of the team to develop and maintain communications and marketing materials. The professional will report to the Director of Product and Investor Communications.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying salient messages for investor communications about investments, the business, the market environment, and competitive positioning. Crafting written and verbal communications on behalf of the firm, including investor letters, presentation materials, speeches, operational due diligence materials, emails, and talking points
- Preparing for and leading ODD meetings and calls with investors, and responding to ad hoc ODD queries from investors
- Serving as a liaison between the investor relations team and the investment and operations teams
- Maintaining and evolving an internal library of ODD information
- Identifying opportunities to improve ODD policies and practices and implementing changes
- Working cross functionally to implement processes and technology enhancements to increase team efficiency
- Preparing regular updates for the broader firm on investor relations initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate thoughts well, both verbally and in writing
- Strong judgment and problem-solving capabilities
- Teamwork orientation
- Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, focus on process, ability to prioritize multiple projects, and willingness to take ownership of and be accountable for a variety of tasks
- A strong knowledge of finance and investing
- An undergraduate degree with a strong academic record
- 3+ years of experience in a client-oriented investor relations role, investment banking, or consulting
The base salary range for this position in New York City is $130,000 to $180,000. In addition to base salary, Viking employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, 100% coverage of medical and dental premiums, and paid lunches. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be individually determined based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, and other qualifications.
