Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical student to join our Investments team for Summer 2026 in Hoboken, New Jersey. This internship offers hands-on experience in real estate acquisitions or asset management, with a focus on investment analysis, underwriting, and portfolio optimization. The ideal candidate will gain exposure to either the deal sourcing and acquisition process or the ongoing management and value creation of existing assets within our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Real Estate Acquisitions Track
- Assist in underwriting and financial modeling of acquisition opportunities across multiple property types
- Conduct market research and submarket analysis to identify investment opportunities
- Support due diligence processes including site visits, document review, and third-party report analysis
- Prepare investment committee memos and presentation materials
- Analyze comparable sales, rent comps, and market trends to support valuation
- Coordinate with brokers, sellers, and internal teams throughout the transaction process
- Maintain deal pipeline tracking and investment opportunity databases
Asset Management Track
- Support portfolio performance monitoring and financial analysis of existing assets
- Assist in preparing quarterly business plans and asset-level budgets
- Conduct property visits and coordinate with property management teams
- Analyze operating statements, rent rolls, and variance reports
- Help develop and implement value-add strategies for portfolio properties
- Prepare investor reporting materials and performance presentations
- Support refinancing and disposition activities for mature assets
- Research market trends and competitive positioning for portfolio properties
Qualifications
Required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or related field
- Expected graduation date of May 2027
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Genuine interest in real estate and investment management
Preferred
- Previous internship or coursework in real estate, finance, or related fields
- Familiarity with financial modeling and valuation techniques
- Experience with Argus, REFM, or other real estate investment software
- Knowledge of PowerPoint and data visualization tools
- Understanding of real estate markets and investment fundamentals
