Senior Analyst- European Loans Operations
The Team
As part of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) business unit, the European Loan Operations group is responsible for facilitating the processing, distribution, and reconciliation of term loan and bond transactions in support of accounting and trading. This role requires great attention to detail, ability to work in a time sensitive environment and the ability to "think outside of the box." In addition to the technical aspect of the role, the senior analyst also performs project work, looks for process improvements, partakes in training and development opportunities and is part of a larger team effort.
The Role
This role will enable a proactive loan closer looking to expand their experience within CLO operations and loan closing. The main goal of this position will be to support the CLO desk, utilising their passion to develop a career in operations. This role will provide great opportunity to learn and grow with very experienced colleagues. Below are key responsibilities:
Booking, confirming and settling loan trades for leveraged loan investments
Reviewing loan/credit documentation
Perform daily reconciliations of trade positions and cash
Identify operational risk and ensure all internal processes are accurately followed
Identifying and escalating issues, which could have significant impact on daily operations
Performing all tasks associated with the European Loan Operations team including (but not limited to) trade settlements, fail management, process reconciliation and accounting processing.
Providing exceptional service to the various business partners including portfolio managers, credit analysts, traders, counterparties and trustees.
Participating in future project opportunities and facilitate change in a rapidly developing environment. Experience with an Agile methodology an advantage but not essential.
Assisting with development and review for new and/or changes to departmental policies and procedures
Collaborating within team environment to successfully manage daily work volumes and quality standards
2-5 years of financial services industry experience. Ideally, CLO and loan closing experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
Your excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Your solid knowledge of business and industry practices
Your ability to recognize high-risk items and escalate those items or seek assistance to minimize loss to either the shareholder and/or Fidelity
Your ability to develop solid action plans to resolve daily operational issues/ problems
Knowledge of syndication market and trade life cycle is required.
Experience of Clearpar system, WSO and notice manager an advantage but not essential.
Experience dealing with trustees, counterparties and agents an advantage.
History of automation implementation a necessity

The Global Middle Office (GMO) Trade Operations Division acts as a servicing centre for our trading desks, and external managers globally, facilitating trade capture, confirmation and settlement of equity, debt, derivative, and currency transactions with brokers, money managers and custodian banks. In addition to the various external counterparts that the teams deal with, there are also several internal groups that assist in the group's daily responsibilities, including Compliance, Treasurer's Office, Counterparty Risk, Legal, Fund Accounting, and other Custody groups. All of these combine to ensure that we are providing accurate and timely information into the NAV and then value to our investors.
