Job Summary
We are seeking an Investment Management Assistant who directly reports to the Chief Operating Officer of Korea and be part of the Global Finance and Operations of Barings Group to ensure portfolios run accurately, compliantly, and efficiently every day, by supporting fund managers with monitoring, cash management, corporate actions, and operational coordination.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supporting fund managers to comply with investment guidelines by conducting UAT on investment restrictions coded in Order Management System, and monitoring investment restrictions before market closing.
- Assisting and monitoring cash flow/liquidity management of accounts.
- Supporting fund managers in process for IPO, proxy voting and corporate action management.
- Supporting fund managers in maintaining model portfolios and buying lists.
- Others (e.g. monitoring daily checklist of fund managers)
Qualifications
Core Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of relevant working experience in asset management company: preference will be given to candidates with compliance or fund accounting work in asset management Company or fund administration companies.
- Knowledge of asset management business and regulations.
- Working knowledge on investment restrictions monitoring or Fund Accounting.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis
Preferred Skills/Certifications
- Strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills both in Korean and English
- Comfortable using AI tools to assist with data organization and workflow efficiency
- Asset management–related certifications, including the Certified Investment Manager (CIM), Certified Research Analyst (CRA), and Financial Risk Manager (FRM), issued by the Korea Financial Investment Association and other relevant bodies
