Barnes & Thornburg LLP seeks Investment Funds Associate Lawyer in New York, NY. Hybrid position, with some telecommuting flexibility. However, must be able to physically be in the New York, NY office as needed. The Associate Lawyer will advise on the formation, structuring, operation, and regulation of private investment funds and their advisers as part of a dynamic and growing corporate group.
Job Responsibilities:
Advise on the formation, structuring, operation, and financing of a wide range of private investment funds (including private equity, hedge fund, credit, venture, and crypto-focused) for both established and new sponsors.
Draft, revise, and negotiate fund documents.
Coordinate all aspects of a fund launch and closing.
Assist with ongoing federal and state regulatory filings and other compliance obligations for RIAs, exempt reporting advisers, and other advisers.
Approximately 10% of domestic travel required per client or firm needs to non-worksite locations. Hybrid/Remote worksite location from the same MSA.
Position requires: Juris Doctor and 2 years of experience as an attorney with fund formation experience.
Must be admitted and in good standing with the NY bar as a licensed attorney.
Must have experience and demonstrated knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

Skills Required
- Juris Doctor degree
