About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director level Structured Finance Originator for Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking to sit within the Power, Utilities & Renewables sector within the broader Energy & Power group.
Wells Fargo's growing Renewables & Asset Finance business is an integral part of the Power, Utilities & Renewables ("PUR") group, providing financing, capital markets and advisory services to corporate clients. Our coverage universe includes renewable developers, independent power producers, infrastructure / private equity funds and utilities globally. The PUR group is a market-leading franchise in the sector, including top ranked positions in the equity and debt capital markets league tables.
In this role, you will:
- Develop or influence objectives, strategy, resources, and long-term goals for a portfolio of clients that utilize structured finance products and services
- Lead all aspects of client interaction: establish and maintain a regular dialogue, gain visibility on the clients' objectives and business pipeline to identify opportunities early, provide advice and ideas, and recommend tailored financing solutions to address specific clients' needs
- Identify ancillary solutions that meet the client's needs and coordinate interaction with other product partners within the bank (Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Rates, FX, Treasury Management, etc.)
- Deliver solutions to clients by assembling and leading execution teams and provide guidance and oversight to pitch, structure, and execute highly customized financing transactions (including project and/or acquisition financing) to clients
- Lead the deal team: assign responsibilities, set deadlines and objectives, and provide guidance Retain oversight of complex aspects such as diligence or documentation, and provide expertise and training to more junior team members
- Cultivate a global relationship with consultants and counsels beyond transaction execution to stay up to date with industry trends
- Identify risks and work closely with Independent Risk Management to diligence those risks and identify satisfactory mitigants; ensure that analyses are in line with the bank's policies and procedures; make the final recommendation for internal risk ratings; monitor the overall credit quality of the portfolio
- Position the bank to win mandates for complex syndicated transactions where we play a lead and active role Coordinate the execution and distribution strategy together with Debt Capital Markets teams to ensure successful placement
- Identify need for sector-specific diligence and "white papers" and act as project manager
- Represent the bank and grow the franchise by developing relationships with clients, partners (consultants, attorneys) and peers at other banks
- Serve as a mentor to others on the team
- 7+ years of Structured Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: new deal execution in power or renewables project finance, infrastructure / private equity fund, or investment banking
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong accounting skills and ability to analyze financial statements
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- High level of initiative and accountability
- Strong Excel skills and intermediate Microsoft Office Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Experience in creating and modifying project finance models
- Knowledge of project finance credit agreements and structures
- Knowledge and understanding of corporate banking credits, cash flow analysis, and underwriting guidelines
- Ability to multitask and work on several assignment, time management and prioritization skills
- Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
- Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
- Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
- This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$250,000.00 - $420,000.00
