Position Description

  • Reports to: Michael Kon, Director of Research & Portfolio Manager

  • Work environment: Flexible WFH (50%/month)

Job Summary

The Investment Associate (IA) will work closely with our analysts and portfolio managers, conducting in-depth research for our various equity strategies, third-party manager offerings, and strategic asset allocation. The ideal candidate is self-driven and has a future ambition to develop into an investment professional. Above all, the IA must be committed to being a positive contributor to the team and must be both flexible and motivated to contribute to the team’s success however possible.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Equity Research
    • Assist senior analysts in constructing and maintaining detailed financial models, composing investment memos, and preparing client updates and investment presentations
    • Support the investment committee in managing equity portfolios and own performance and decision tracking, data analysis, and reporting internally and to clients
    • Create and run stock screens for new ideas based on internal quality criteria, prepare shadow committee reports, and review Morningstar research and data for new ideas
    • Conduct semi-annual proxy-voting audits
  • Third-Party Manager Research
    • Support portfolio managers in researching new alternative asset managers
    • Assist portfolio managers in preparing quarterly write-ups on third-party managers
    • Lead operational due diligence of third-party managers
  • Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA)
    • Support portfolio managers in developing annual Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) updates
    • Assist the portfolio managers in creating educational material and communication for advisors and clients


Qualifications

  • Strong passion for investing and a desire to build a career as an investment professional
  • Bachelor’s Degree with excellent academic credentials; CFA is a plus
  • Good understanding of finance, accounting, and investing principles
  • Strong background in accounting
  • Exceptional work ethic, integrity, and intellectual honesty
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through effectively
  • Key competencies: nimble learning, situational adaptability, demonstrates self-awareness, self-development, action-oriented
  • This associate position is not open to candidates who require visa sponsorship


Salary and Benefits

  • The expected base salary for this position will range from $85-125K plus eligibility (after 6 months) for a bonus. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
