Lori Pinkowski, one of the top Portfolio Managers at Canaccord Genuity and a well-known financial expert in the media, is seeking a full-time licensed Investment Associate to join her team in our downtown Vancouver office.

Canaccord Genuity is a full-service financial services firm committed to building lasting client relationships. As a key member of the Pinkowski Wealth Management team, the Investment Associate will support the management of our discretionary portfolio mandates through portfolio administration, market monitoring, trading support and investment research.

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced, investment-focused environment. The ideal candidate will support portfolio implementation and client service activities, including assisting with trade execution, portfolio rebalancing, account administration, and client communications. Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills, along with a collaborative and client-focused mindset, are essential.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good standing CIRO license (completion of CSC, CPH) is required; 
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience; 
  • Analytical, natural curiosity, innovative and creative thinker about markets; 
  • Strong communication and writing skills; 
  • A winning and positive attitude; 
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team; 
  • High attention to detail; 
  • Strong knowledge of Excel; 
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure; 
  • Experienced in a trading or portfolio management capacity an asset; 
  • Technical analysis skills an asset; 
  • CFA an asset; 
  • CFP an asset;
  • Extensive knowledge of AI to improve efficiency;
  • Knowledge of Dataphile, YCharts and Envestnet an asset. 

Research Support Responsibilities:

  • Assist with monitoring and updating proprietary model portfolios;
  • Support the team’s established investment process through data gathering and documentation;
  • Track and summarize news flow, earnings releases, and market-moving events;
  • Maintain regular updates on economic and market conditions and relay key highlights to the Portfolio Manager;
  • Provide support in the preparation of investment notes, as well as internal and external materials;
  • Assist in the preparation of client-friendly communications on market conditions, trends, and investment inquiries.

Trading & Portfolio Administration Support 

  • Handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to portfolio management and client accounts; 
  • Support bulk trading initiatives and ensure proper documentation and follow up. 
  • Support trade execution processes across equities, fixed income, and FX; 
  • Assist with portfolio rebalancing according to model guidelines; 
  • Monitor security prices and flag potential entry or exit levels for review; 
    Assist with managing client accounts, including tracking cash balances and debit positions
