About the Role:Job SummaryTo conduct investigations, either to prevent criminal activity or to discover the identity of someone who has committed a crime. Investigate allegations of workplace violence or other reported misconduct as assigned the Director of Security. Assignments may include working as a member of a investigative team or working with area law enforcement agencies.
Minimum Job QualificationsLicensure or other certifications: Valid driver’s license.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum Experience: At least one (3) years of law enforcement experience or similar experience as an investigator.

Knowledge of law, court procedures, and police procedures and processes.
Ability to work independently and to direct team members in conducting investigations.
Good oral and written communication skills to present interviews accurately and to prepare reports on investigations.
Good employee relations skills to conduct effective interviews with suspects and witnesses.
Ability to operate calmly in stressful situations.
Ability to operate computer and work within the system's variance tracking system.
Good hearing and visual acuity necessary for surveillance duties and for interviewing witnesses and suspects.
Skilled in evidence collection including photographs, videos, statements.
Conduct, manage, and document investigatory activities including interviews and evidence gathering in response to complaints and concerns including employee relations, compliance, sexual and physical assaults, harrassment, patient/visitor falls and other areas of potential liability for the organization. Investigations will be completed independently and often under the direction of legal counsel.
Receives information from (RL6) variance management system, responds appropriately to any variances, and assists department leaders with investigations or resolving complaints from patients and employees.
Uses de-escalation methods to communicate with disgruntled patients and employees.
Serves as a resource in employee terminations and other staffing issues.
Serves as a liaison between all departments and risk management to assist in the prevention and investigation of risk related events.
Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion. Cooperates and shares information with other departments and law enforcement agencies as appropriate.
Participates as part of an investigative team in conducting cases of misconduct requiring investigation under the requests of legal counsel.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the risk management department.
Subject matter expert on variance reporting software. Reviews incident reports by staff and completes follow-up investigations if necessary.

Skills Required
- Valid driver's license
- Maintain active certifications as required for training

- Graduate of police academy
- At least one year of law enforcement experience and three years as an investigator on a police force
- Knowledge of law, court procedures, and police procedures
- Ability to operate computers and various surveillance equipment (electronic, photographic, radios, body cameras)
- Skilled in evidence collection and crime scene procedures
- Demonstrated skills in use of law enforcement weapons and certifications (firearms, expandable baton, taser)
- Good oral and written communication skills for reports and court testimony
- Associate degree in criminal justice, public administration, or similar field
