Job Summary/Description:
12 Oregon seeks an experienced Investigative Reporter to join our award-winning news team. The successful candidate will research, develop, write, and present investigative news stories on a long and short-term basis, as well as contribute research and analysis on major breaking news events and the big stories of the day. The reporter will work with the FOX 12 Investigates team as well as station management and the legal department to conceptualize and produce content. Experience doing computer-assisted reporting, research, and database analysis is a plus.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Research, develop, write, and produce ground-breaking investigative news stories
- Generate long and short-term investigative news projects
- Perform computer-assisted reporting, research, and database analysis
- Contribute research and analysis on major breaking news events and big stories of the day
- Provide investigative content across all of FOX 12 Oregon's on-air and digital platforms
- Develop and maintain sources that will generate exclusive reports
- Work with station management and corporate legal department, conceptualizing and producing content
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field preferred
- Minimum of two years' experience working as an investigative reporter or a four years as a General Assignment Reporter with a demonstrated history of turning investigative stories
- Understanding of computer-assisted reporting and working with database and spreadsheet programs
- Willingness to work long hours and overtime
