Fox 2 News in St. Louis (DMA 24) is hiring an experienced Investigative Reporter to join our award-winning team. The ideal candidate for this role is relentlessly curious, self-motivated, organized, and adaptable. They will pitch and turn short- and long-term investigations and follow-ups, often managing multiple ongoing stories simultaneously.
- Gather information about events through research, interviews, or experience
- Pitch stories that are relevant and impactful to the local community
- Work closely with news and digital managers to ensure journalistic and legal standards are met
- Actively engage across all digital and social media platforms to build brand recognition and enhance storytelling
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven track record of developing and sustaining sources
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Dynamic on-air presence with conversational, engaging delivery and the ability to ad lib
- Skilled in data analysis, public information requests, backgrounding, interviewing, and research
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work any shift
