Our Opportunity:
Chewy is currently recruiting for an Inventory Control Operations Manager for our fulfillment center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. We are looking for a candidate with the ability to drive process improvements and keep pace with our fast growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely fast paced environment. This individual will be someone who loves dealing with ambiguity, change, and enjoys getting into the details to drive improvements every single day!
What you'll do:
- Measurement of quality & inventory transaction accuracy while providing feedback to fulfillment operations
- Review & analysis of customer defect data with development of corresponding action plans to reduce defects
- Develop & implement daily, weekly & monthly action plans that increase quality, inventory accuracy & service
- Partner with Operations Managers in the communication of policies
- Follow up to ensure compliance & consistency for policies & procedures surrounding Inventory Control & Quality
- Plan & complete cycle counts as described in each area of the facility
- Establish & Maintain Inventory handling procedures within the building
- Plan for & identify root causes of inventory deviation through cause & effect analysis
- Lead & supervise a team supervisors & hourly associates in Inventory Control / Quality Assurance operations within the fulfillment center.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, & evaluation of the operation
What You'll Need:
- 5+ years of management experience in fulfillment center/warehouse operations; prefer retail/e-commerce experience
- At least 4 years of management experience within Inventory Control, and/or Order Fulfillment
- At least 4 years of proven experience of effectively managing large groups of hourly employees.
- Experience with building or improving inventory management, order management, and warehouse management systems and processes
- Excitement for working in a start-up environment with high level of ambiguity and change
- Strong analytical, math, data analysis, listening & communication skills
- Ability to show Inventory & Quality improvement in a continually improving environment
- Ability to quickly pick up various software systems and data analysis tools
- Strong project management and continuous improvement skills
- Metrics driven approach
- Customer service obsession, with willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy customer needs
- Effective communicator and leader for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams and executive leadership
- Proven ability to quickly adapt and drive the right results using data
- Highest levels of integrity and ethics
- Must flexible to work weekends and/or night shift
Bonus:
- E-Commerce experience
- Certification and/or experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or Green Belt certification
