Position Overview:
Aksia is seeking a seasoned professional to provide subject matter expertise on interval fund operations and accounting, in collaboration with our Client Operations team. Aksia’s Client Operations team provides comprehensive operations and accounting solutions for our clients.
This position can be based fully remotely or out of Aksia's Chicago office and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients.
Responsibilities
- Problem solve and examine business and technology initiatives from a variety of perspectives both internal and external
- Oversee accounting and reporting of client portfolios and
- Train and supervise a team performing operations/back office functions
- Foster strong partnerships with cross functional teams (e.g. Advisory, Risk, Investment and Operational Due Diligence)
- Serve as a subject matter expert for internal/client questions
- Liaise with investment managers, third party fund administrators, and prime brokers
- Support corporate goals and business/departmental initiatives
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in fund operations or fund accounting, ideally at a fund administrator, investment manager, public accounting firm or other financial institution
- Demonstrated experience working on funds subject to the Investment Company Act, the Investment Advisers Act, Securities Act, and Securities Exchange Act
- A thorough understanding of investment management operations and accounting, specifically Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Assets and/or Real Estate
- 2+ years of experience supervising, training, delegating tasks, and managing a team
- Experience with interval funds preferred
- CPA preferred but not required
- Knowledge of US GAAP with an emphasis on accounting for investment funds
- A proven track record of contributions to process improvement, standardization, automation and team mentorship
- Proficiency in excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication
