Job Summary:
The InterSystems Healthshare Data Engineer III is responsible for engineering, architecting, developing, and implementing unique and innovative enterprise wide, graphics-based, business intelligence solutions that deliver actionable information to the business with a high degree of impact.
Essential Functions:
- Candidates for this position must have hands on experience with Intersystems Healthshare tool as a software developer and InterSystems Caché and Ensemble/HealthShare.
- Building new and debugging and fixing existing HL7, CCD and custom data interfaces (JSON and XML) to internal and external destinations.
- This includes but not limited to editing and creating new custom schemas, DTLs, XSLT transforms, custom tables, custom SDA fields.
- Modifying queries in the Query Definition Registry to support analytics filters.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to business analysts to help with analysis and story formulation.
- Building web services (SOAP and REST) and clients.
- Participating and providing input for technical solution brainstorming sessions to tackle some of the problems being faced by the team.
- Providing technical support to QA to assist with testing and suggesting free courses they can take to enhance their understanding of InterSystems and creating videos to help with testing.
- Other and special projects as assigned.
- Preferably with a strong knowledge of healthcare data integration (HL7, CCD, C-CDA, X12, etc.).
- Real experience with InterSystems HealthShare is going to get special consideration.
- Complete fluency with the HL7 2.x file format and experience.
- Experience with CCD and C-CDA formats and integrations is strongly desired.
- Experience with file parsing (XML, XSLT, etc.).
- Comfort level with object-oriented programming and code customizations is a plus.
- Creation of tasks to automate various activities like monthly loading files, update consent rules, fix clinical data, reporting, updating custom tables and many others.
- Modifying existing and building new clinical subscriptions to update to downstream systems.
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience designing and developing ETL and/or BI solutions is required.
- Demonstrable experience in all stages of definition, design, implementation, testing and deployment of complex database, ETL, BI and Analytical solutions is required.
- Healthcare payer experience is preferred.
- Participation and experience working within a formal Data Warehouse and Governance environment is preferred.
- Good hands-on experience with HealthShare/Cache/Ensemble and other InterSystems products.
Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven ability to write complex SQL queries
- Proven ability developing medium to complex data quality profiling or metadata analysis processes with an industry leading tool
- Ability to manage multiple medium to large scale projects while demonstrating a sense of urgency
- Solid understanding of data management and governance concepts, especially data quality and metadata management
- Proven understanding of relational database theory
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders at all different levels
- Effective problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills; listening and critical thinking
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Customer Service oriented
Working Conditions:
- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Compensation Range:
$90,500.00 - $158,400.00
