General Summary of Purpose:

As our User Experience Intern, you will be responsible for developing and implementing front end application digital solutions that support the user experience strategy. This person should be a passionate UX professional with an eye for creating superior user experiences and translating them into enterprise level digital applications.

Essential Functions:

• Assist the UX team with designing, developing, and delivering fully functional and accessible front-end prototypes.
• Assist with fixing any issues or bugs that arise.
• Contribute to a small agile team of UX Developers to accomplish user experience goals and improve application performance.
• Perform usability testing, analyze feedback, data and iterate based off findings
• Abide by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Hybrid and Remote options available.

Here's what you need to join the fun:

• Thorough knowledge of current web and user interface standards
• Knowledge of the opportunities and limitations of web-based application development, while staying abreast of shifts in industry standards and customer expectations
• Strong technical competencies in JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML, CSS and the capabilities of Web browsers across multiple platforms and technologies
• Experience with GIT, Node, NPM, and Gulp is a plus
• Aptitude for problem solving and analytical thinking
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse internal and external constituents.
• Excellent work ethic and positive attitude
• Extremely detail oriented, highly organized and focused
• Enrolled in a four-year college program with an emphasis on Computer Science, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
