The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a creative, passionate individual who is ready to join us as a Finance Communications Intern and learn within an innovative and dynamic company. The focus for Red Hat's Intern Program is a dual partnership between the Early Talent team, and our intern managers. We can offer you professional development, social engagement and networking, performance and development, and meaningful work throughout your summer at Red Hat.
What you will do

  • Be responsible for key communications activities within the CFO organization
  • Design and deliver communications strategies for projects and initiatives within the CFO organization
  • Create materials for quarterly All Hands meetings
  • Improve collaboration and communication across the CFO organization
  • Provide a fresh point of view on improvement opportunities for our approach to communications throughout the organization
  • Communicate relevant and timely news and announcements
  • Ensure that all communications are on-brand, on message, and high quality
  • Manage intranet pages for internal CFO associates and the broader Red Hat audience
  • Write and collect quality content for the quarterly CFO newsletter
  • Coordinate with others outside of the CFO team to develop digital communications, multimedia, and other content needed
  • Help build the brand of the CFO organization, inside the team and throughout Red Hat


What you will bring

  • Ability to work full time May-August
  • Currently pursuing a degree; if you have graduated, be no more than 6 months past your graduation date
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Effective ability to work as part of a team and take a leadership role in managing initiatives, working across organizations, and identifying approaches to new opportunities
  • Proactive in solving problems and prioritizing efforts
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and ability to work effectively in a complex and rapidly changing organizational setting
  • Knowledge of Google Drive and Google Apps suite
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple, concurrent tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including editing
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn


The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience writing and editing in a professional environment
  • Knowledge of basic financial terminology and concepts
  • Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, or a related field
