Job Description: A nationally recognized engineering consulting firm has an opening for an engineering intern in the Water Resources/Development Engineering Division in the Albuquerque, New Mexico, office. Primary responsibilities will include administrative support; assistance with engineering reports, marketing materials, construction documents, drafting, Geographic Information System (GIS), and minor engineering calculations; and other duties assigned. Some local travel could be associated with the position. The successful candidate will work under the direction of multiple project managers (engineers).
Qualifications: The ideal candidate would be local and should be an engineering student in civil, environmental, or a related field. The candidate should have strong computer skills, especially in using spreadsheets. AutoCAD and/or GIS experience is beneficial but not necessary. The candidate must have proven interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work Schedule: Temporary part-time position throughout the summer and possibly through the school year.
Compensation: $18 to $22 per hour, depending on experience, plus statutory insurance requirements.
