Title: Business Intelligence Analyst Intern - Summer 2023
Location: Des Moines, IA; Sioux Falls, SD or Chicago, IL
Job Summary: Support the Life Data Strategy initiative that involves transitioning to and maximizing the use of platforms including: PowerBI Cloud, Snowflake and Salesforce. Assist the Product Owner and members of the Life Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics team to load/connect to data in Snowflake, present the data in PowerBI/Excel, and provide broad support to the team on tasks including: documentation, testing/validation, production support, and business intelligence (cause-and-effect analysis). Candidates familiar with Data Science concepts would also spend a portion of their time supporting Machine Learning models.
Essential Functions:
- Power BI Development
- Replicating Power BI reports across companies or specific requests utilizing the same Data Set
- Documentation
- Creation and maintenance of a "Notes" tab for every report that would define all attributes, metrics and calculations used for current and future reporting
- Editing requirements documents
- Best practice documentation for creating dashboards, pipeline deployment, view creation, etc
- Performing Data Lineage tasks
- Aid in scribing for meetings and collecting / communicating action items
- Assist in Report cataloguing in Axon
- UAT
- Perform testing of tables inside of Snowflake against source systems (UAT env and higher)
- Assistance in testing of views and mild development work
- Snowflake to Tableau CRM validation (and vice-versa)
- General
- Follow up on tickets
- Assist in Marketing Communications Email reporting requests
Qualifications:
- Excel Functions: Vlookup / Index Match (single and multiple criteria), PIVOT Table experience
- Basic SQL
- Data Science or Computer Programming track (Python / R language) optional
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Including OneNote and Visio)
- Analytical capabilities
- Experience with PowerBI / Tableau preferred
Internship Program:
Our Internship program is designed to give students experience with projects and performing tasks within their hired work area. You will be exposed to other areas within the organization by participating in development, culture and volunteer events. This paid internship is 8-10 weeks in length with the possibility of extending hours into the school year.
