The Opportunity
We are excited to offer a valuable opportunity for a highly motivated student (Master level) to join our Grid Management and Optimization team in Mannheim, Germany for a six-month internship.
As an intern, you will contribute to cutting-edge research and development in probabilistic optimization for modern power distribution systems.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Conduct a literature review on power system optimization under uncertainty
- Enhance existing tools for risk-aware mathematical optimization
- Develop interfaces to modern power system simulation libraries
- Identify suitable grid models and test scenarios
- Document and present your findings to internal stakeholders
Your Background
- Currently pursuing a degree in Energy Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Solid understanding of mathematical optimization
- Ideally, hands-on experience with optimization under uncertainty in power systems
- Strong programming skills, including object-oriented design (preferably in Python or a similar modern language)
- A collaborative mindset and strong team spirit
