About the Business

Our Destination Management services form the core of our business. Together with our destination experts, our sales and account management teams generate business by partnering with our customers (Tour Operators, Travel Agencies) to shape exciting itineraries suited to their traveler’s needs. We take care of everything from ground support, hotel bookings, sightseeing, restaurants, and local guides; all while providing 24/7 customer support so that travelers from over 50 countries can enjoy memorable travel experiences worry free.

About the Role

We are currently offering in JTB Italy srl based in Rome an internship experience in the Operations department.

Job profile

  • Oversee the complete operational lifecycle of tours, from Master Check to Post-Tour analysis, ensuring seamless execution and high customer satisfaction.

  • Contribute to the development of new destination content, enhancing the travel experience with innovative and engaging proposals.

  • Be responsible for negotiating the most competitive rates with suppliers and managing advance bookings for restaurants, guides, entrances, transportation, special visits, and other services, ensuring that all tasks are completed in line with company policies, targets, and deadlines

  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of tour coordination, minimizing errors and avoiding misunderstandings with external stakeholders.

  • Provide outstanding customer service by addressing client needs promptly, handling special requests, and ensuring a smooth travel experience.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, and Destination Management teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, tailor-made services.

Reporting structures and key relationships

  • Reporting to the Team Leader.

  • Close collaboration with external suppliers.

  • Daily interaction with Sales, and all relevant departments.

Key activities

  • Manage total tour operations, including itinerary Master Checks, service booking and confirmation, and budget control.

  • Ensure itineraries are feasible in terms of timing and routing, verifying service codes, suppliers, and conditions.

  • Select appropriate suppliers, balancing quality and price to maximize margins.

  • Accurately book and confirm destination services, ensuring timely execution.

  • Provide constructive suggestions and proposals to the Sales team for itinerary improvements and optimizations.

  • Handle last-minute requests and amendments, with problem-solving approach to guarantee customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal English, and Italian skills

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • Good business reporting / statistic producing skills

  • Bachelor in Tourism can be considered a plus

Internship reimbursement as per Latium Region regulations (€800 gross per month)
