Description of assignmentWithin Vanderlande’s Warehousing Sales Support team, we face the challenge of making our broad set of knowledge, tools, and data more accessible and consistent. At the moment, valuable insights are spread across different sources, which makes it difficult for our global sales teams to leverage past experiences and best practices. This fragmentation limits opportunities to perform meta-analyses and to apply AI-based solutions that could strengthen commercial and technical proposals.
The assignment focuses on analysing the available knowledge and data with an engineering mindset, scoping which databases should be structured, and exploring how AI tools or agents can unlock this value for the global sales community.
Research question: How can knowledge and data within the Sales Warehousing domain be structured and enriched so that AI-based tools can support sales teams more effectively?
The Sales Support team operates within the Warehousing Solutions (WS) domain and provides both technical and commercial support to sales teams worldwide.
As an intern, you will be part of a dynamic, international environment where collaboration is key. You will work closely with engineers, sales managers, and domain experts from different regions (Veghel HQ, Pune, Siegen, and regional offices). The work is project-oriented, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your research while being supported by experienced colleagues.
- Investigate existing tools, knowledge bases, and data sources used by the Sales Support team.
- Define and scope which databases should be (re-)structured, improved and/or extended.
- Explore and propose how AI (agents) can generate insights from these databases.
- Deliver at least two AI solutions that will use the databanks and deliver valuable insights
- Present findings to stakeholders and contribute to global knowledge sharing within the WS Sales domain
- Analytical mindset with the ability to structure and connect data sources.
- Affinity with AI, machine learning, or data-driven solutions (hands-on experience is a plus).
- Experience with tools such as Python, Power BI, or SQL is preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English; capable of presenting complex findings in a clear, practical way.
- Proactive, independent, and motivated to work in an international business environment.
- *Mandatory enrolment to a Dutch Education System & resident of The Netherlands.
