Description of the job

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Flight Physics Capabilities team. The intern will work on the development of a Python application aimed at parsing, processing, and visualizing data from flight simulations in the context of Loads and Aeroelasticity domains. The application will help to analyze the outputs of flight simulations, generate post-processed data, and create intuitive visualizations to support engineering analysis and decision-making.

This internship offers a great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in flight dynamics, and software development to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and highly technical field.

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

• Data Parsing: Parse large data files generated by flight simulations, containing information related to loads and aeroelasticity. This may involve working with structured text formats such as CSV, JSON, XML, or specialized scientific file formats.

• Post-Processing: Implement data processing techniques to clean, analyze, and transform raw simulation data into meaningful insights. You will apply various algorithms to filter, aggregate, and transform the data for visualization and reporting.

• Data Visualization (Google Sheets): Organize and visualize processed data using Google Sheets. This includes importing the data, applying formulas, creating charts, and ensuring the data is presented in an easy-to-understand format for stakeholders.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with flight physics engineers and domain experts to ensure that the application meets user needs and is aligned with the simulation data's structure.

 Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled full-time student in the area of aeronautical or industrial engineering, IT or related discipline.

• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Python programming

• Strong problem-solving abilities to process, analyze, and interpret large datasets effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Fluent English.
