Desjardins Capital Markets Summer Internship Program is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students to work for a growing Canadian brokerage firm. Students who are on track to graduate in Spring 2026 will have the chance to gain outstanding hands-on work experience and develop a strong understanding of the capital markets industry. Desjardins Capital Markets is seeking candidates for its Corporate Finance activities, which cover the bank debt financing needs of large corporations. This program offers students the chance to enhance their career prospects by acquiring valuable industry knowledge, building important business relationships, and learning more about a rewarding career. Learning in the real world: This summer internship is an introduction to a dynamic and stimulating career in Corporate Finance, where debt financing transactions are carried out for industries from diverse environments. Students will have the opportunity to become familiar with a wide range of assignments such as credit and financial analysis. The summer internships will run from May to August 2026, for a total of 16 weeks. The student will receive constructive feedback from their manager throughout the internship as well as a final evaluation. A significant number of resources will be deployed to ensure that the student has acquired the necessary knowledge by the end of the internship to embark on a successful career in the global financial markets sector. The student will benefit from working alongside some of the most highly regarded experts in the field. Our internship program will allow them to develop a better understanding of the interaction, functioning, and integration of the business sector within the capital markets. The student will gain a broad understanding of Corporate Finance activities by becoming familiar with different industry sectors and developing strong skills in credit and financial analysis, as well as an in-depth understanding of the loan syndication market in Canada. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Assist in preparing annual reviews and amendments

  • Assist in reviewing loan-related documents and other related materials

  • Create and maintain various databases to support credit analysis/approval and business development/new client activities

  • Prepare various internal management reports

  • Perform ad hoc tasks

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance to be completed by the end of the current spring term, and the internship must be credited/attested by your educational institution

  • Proven track record of excellent academic results and success in extracurricular activities

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience in financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory

  • Strong communication skills in French, both oral and written

  • Knowledge of corporate finance and/or financial analysis
