About the Role:

Baird’s Compliance interns collaborate closely with experienced professionals to learn about the laws, regulations and ethical standards that govern the financial services industry. Through hands-on tasks and projects, interns gain practical insight into how policies and procedures are applied in a dynamic compliance environment at a high-performing financial firm. Internship opportunities are available across several specialized teams.

This is a hybrid internship, working 3 days per week in our downtown Milwaukee, WI office and 2 days remote. The intern must be able to work full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week, and work part time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week. We are seeking a local student who can start in April/May 2027.

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • Perform basic analysis on department, firm and industry data to maintain compliance business continuity

  • Assist with compliance reviews of various business units

  • Conduct preliminary investigation on potential watch list matches using tools such as Google, database, and court records

  • Gather information regarding client activity that may be suspicious and escalate to team for analysis

  • Assist with coordinating institutional branch review process

  • Create and maintain various Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentation training materials 

  • Assist with administrative functions including answering phones and responding to client questions

  • Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned

What You’ll Bring to Baird:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or other related areas with a proven track record of academic excellence

  • Anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later

  • Excellent attention to detail and superior organizational skills

  • Strong oral and written communication abilities

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Some financial market knowledge is preferred
