Temporary position for 6 months
The National Business Development Support team at Desjardins is seeking a motivated and analytical intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to real business projects while developing your skills in a collaborative and cooperative setting. As a Business Analytics Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the Business Development Strategies Lead and Business Analytics Strategy Advisor in strategic decision-making through data and operational excellence. You will provide administrative and operational support to help the organization achieve its goals and maximize productivity. More specifically, you will be required to:
Data Analysis & Reporting
Collect, clean, and analyze data from internal systems (e.g., CRM, financial platforms)
Support the development of dashboards and automated reports using Power BI or Excel
Perform exploratory analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
Business Intelligence & Strategy
Assist in translating business needs into analytical questions and actionable insights
Support ongoing strategic projects such as advisor segmentation, sales forecasting, or operational efficiency reviews
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data, IT, Marketing, Operations)
Technical Support & Tool Usage
Query databases and prepare datasets
Ensure documentation and reproducibility of code, processes, and dashboards
Assist in macro improvement on existing excel sheets to increase efficiency
Communication & Collaboration
Present findings to internal stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable format
Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions
Contribute to a strong, cooperative team culture aligned with Desjardins values
What you bring to the table
College diploma in Business, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field
A minimum of two years of relevant experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Expertise in using Excel
Knowledge of BI tools
