The International Trade Controller is responsible for financial planning, reporting, and accounting activities related to DTNA's international trade and tariff exposure. This role partners closely with Finance, International Trade Compliance, Purchasing, and Accounting to provide financial transparency, support tariff mitigation initiatives, and drive informed business decisions through accurate reporting, analysis, and governance.

What You Drive at DTNA 

Trade FP&A, Reporting & Business Partnering

  • Own enterprise-wide trade and tariff reporting, including actuals, forecasts, variance analysis, and executive reporting.
  • Consolidate tariff exposure across direct imports, recovery programs, and mitigation initiatives to support business steering and financial decision-making.
  • Support annual planning cycles and provide insights on key risks, opportunities, and forecast assumptions.
  • Partner with Finance, Purchasing, ITC, and Accounting to improve transparency and reporting accuracy.

Direct Import Controlling & Financial Governance

  • Lead direct-import tariff close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, actual postings, and variance analysis.
  • Support tariff-related accounting activities and partner with Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Monitor forecast-to-actual performance and implement improvements to strengthen reporting consistency and forecast accuracy.
  • Maintain documentation and controls that support audit readiness and financial governance.

Trade Programs, Recovery Initiatives & Financial Modeling

  • Develop and maintain financial models supporting IAO, Extended U.S. Content, self-certification, PSC recoveries, and other trade initiatives.
  • Support business cases and financial analyses related to tariff mitigation, recovery opportunities, and regulatory changes.
  • Monitor recovery assumptions, cash-flow impacts, and program performance to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate financial impacts and implementation risks.

Reporting Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Define business requirements for Palantir, dashboards, and reporting tools supporting trade FP&A and management reporting.
  • Drive automation and process improvements that reduce manual activities and improve data quality.
  • Support development of scalable reporting solutions and KPI frameworks.
  • Continuously enhance reporting processes, controls, and analytical capabilities.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in financial controlling, FP&A, accounting, or manufacturing finance.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and business-partnering skills.
  • Experience with forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and executive presentations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across cross-functional team

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Experience in international trade, tariffs, customs, or trade compliance programs.
  • Knowledge of USMCA, Section 232, Section 301, or related trade regulations.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Palantir, Snowflake, or similar analytics platforms.
  • Experience supporting audits, governance, or financial controls.
