Summary
In this International Tax Manager role, you will lead the growth of our international tax capabilities and team, build trusted client relationships, and deliver exceptional service. You’ll also leverage an entrepreneurial mindset to work and build strong relationships, taking our International Tax Services Practice to the next level.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the delivery of a full range of international tax services and advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the tax implications of their international operations as well as coordinating U.S. tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy and develop tax planning strategies to minimize U.S. and foreign income taxes.
- Advise on the tax implications of foreign business investments and transactions.
- Provide leadership and tax technical expertise on international tax issues, both internally and externally.
- Manage and build trusting client relationships; understand clients' business challenges and goals; work collaboratively with clients and service teams to deliver exceptional value and quality; manage and drive the success of multiple engagements while enhancing profitability; provide additional insights and business solutions that result in expanded business to clients.
- Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
- Oversee tax-planning responsibilities for clients, review complex tax research on a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions for a variety of entities and their affiliates.
- Lead the development and execution of growth strategies; actively represent the firm in the business community to promote our brand and capabilities; develop and close new business.
- Attract, develop and retain top talent; serve as a mentor and coach for emerging leaders; ensure effective communication and alignment of priorities.
- Assist in various international tax planning projects (e.g., foreign tax credit usage optimization, Subpart F minimization strategies, income sourcing & characterization, PE analysis, legal entity structuring).
- Review quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations relating to international operations for US consolidated and local statutory financials.
- Oversee tax returns for US Income forms 1118/5471/8858 with a focus on international areas.
- Review companies’ corporate federal and state income tax returns and provisions as it relates to international activities.
- Coordinate and review US and foreign entity tax elections and forms.
Position Requirements
- CPA license or JD required
- Specific knowledge of US international tax rules including but not limited to GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, FDII, and BEAT
- A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships
- A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients
- Highly developed problem solving and analytical skills
- Project management and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Skills Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance or other relevant degree program
- CPA license required
- Five to twelve years of public accounting or international tax experience, preferred
- Minimum two years previous supervisory experience
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to multi-task with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment
