Job Profile Summary:
The International Operations Specialist will be responsible for all phases of the operational flow and functionality from pick-up through delivery and invoicing. This includes the pick-up process, data entry, dispatching, routing, tracking, billing, and costing of all Pegasus shipments. It is responsible for providing high-level customer care and service. Departmental compliance to all company policies and procedures is required as well as adherence to all US and international regulatory compliance requirements.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Should have a total understanding of all service levels and their importance.
- Back up any position within the department
- Must be a proficient router with a proper understanding of lane segments/service/cost.
- Assist in producing required shipping documents for both imports/exports and domestic.
- Assist in developing and overseeing department SOPs and KPIs.
- Help support/formulate quotes, sales tariffs, and required projects.
- Train and develop subordinates in all phases of international operations.
- Manage and monitor on-time performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors for feedback and improvement opportunities.
- Communicate with foreign agents for shipment coordination.
- Shipments coordination from A to Z all modes of transport – Key Accounts.
- Comply with the requirements of the company’s Quality Management System.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- High school diploma
- 3+ years of related experience
- Fluent in English and Spanish, both oral and written.
- Excellent import/export/domestic compliance knowledge
- Hazmat compliance knowledge
- TMS, WMS, and Microsoft Office experience
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Hazardous certification
- Minor degree/certification in related field
- Leadership skills
- Knowledge of customs procedures
- Decision-making capabilities
- Good customer service
Physical Requirements:
- Remain in a stationary/seated position for an extended period.
- Regularly required to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and other office machinery.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds.
