Location: Washington, DC

  • Serves as a team leader, assigning work and coaching team members and reporting to management on their performance
  • Writes and produces news and feature content and programming as assigned for use in broadcasts and web and social media
  • As assigned, during programs, serves as line producer and manages the timing and order of stories included in broadcasts
  • Conducts and writes up interviews for inclusion in his/her assigned stories
  • Adapts and/or translates content produced in English into native language, as assigned
  • Versions content produced in native language into English for distribution, as assigned
  • Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media sections, as assigned

  • Contributes to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned
  • As assigned, edits and approves copy and content prepared or written by others for broadcast and/or publication

  • Serves as videographer/reporter, as assigned
  • Serves as anchor/program host as assigned
  • Makes suggestions about policy and workflow improvements
  • Works independently or as a member of a team
  • Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area, plus the ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned
  • Has specialized knowledge including formal education in a field desired by OCB, regularly demonstrating that added ability through the performance of his/her duties
  • Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with OCBs digital asset management system
  • Other related duties as assigned

Skills Required

  • Fluency in target language (written and spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area
  • Ability to adapt/translate content between English and the target language
  • Proven experience writing and producing news and feature content for broadcast, web, and social media
  • Experience leading or supervising a team, assigning work and coaching staff
  • Ability to perform technical functions and operate broadcast/video equipment; serve as videographer/reporter/anchor as assigned
  • Experience editing and approving copy and fine editing of taped material
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems and performing related data entry
  • Meets productivity, quality, and deadline standards
  • Pass a thorough background check for personal service contractors
  • Specialized knowledge or formal education in a field desired by OCB
