International Multimedia Journalist Level IV
Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB) / U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM)
Location: Washington, DC
- Serves as a team leader, assigning work and coaching team members and reporting to management on their performance
- Writes and produces news and feature content and programming as assigned for use in broadcasts and web and social media
- As assigned, during programs, serves as line producer and manages the timing and order of stories included in broadcasts
- Conducts and writes up interviews for inclusion in his/her assigned stories
- Adapts and/or translates content produced in English into native language, as assigned
- Versions content produced in native language into English for distribution, as assigned
- Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media sections, as assigned
- Voices material for/during broadcasts as assigned, including material prepared by others
- Contributes to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned
- As assigned, edits and approves copy and content prepared or written by others for broadcast and/or publication
- for inclusion in his/her assigned stories
- Adapts and/or translates content produced in English into native language, as assigned
- Versions content produced in native language into English for distribution, as assigned
- Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media sections, as assigned
- Voices material for/during broadcasts as assigned, including material prepared by others
- Contributes finished products meeting standards to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned
- Performs technical functions including operation of equipment, as assigned
- Contributes to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates, as needed
- Meets OCB standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines
- Serves as videographer/reporter, as assigned
- Serves as anchor/program host as assigned
- Makes suggestions about policy and workflow improvements
- Works independently or as a member of a team
- Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area, plus the ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned
- Has specialized knowledge including formal education in a field desired by OCB, regularly demonstrating that added ability through the performance of his/her duties
- Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with OCBs digital asset management system
- Other related duties as assigned

Skills Required
- Fluency in target language (written and spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area
- Ability to adapt/translate content between English and the target language
- Proven experience writing and producing news and feature content for broadcast, web, and social media
- Experience leading or supervising a team, assigning work and coaching staff
- Ability to perform technical functions and operate broadcast/video equipment; serve as videographer/reporter/anchor as assigned
- Experience editing and approving copy and fine editing of taped material
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems and performing related data entry
- Meets productivity, quality, and deadline standards
- Pass a thorough background check for personal service contractors
- Specialized knowledge or formal education in a field desired by OCB
