General position summary:

The International Inside Sales Consultant is responsible for generating revenue through the sale of international household goods moving services. This position conducts virtual pre-move surveys, develops and presents pricing proposals, educates customers on international relocation requirements, and converts qualified opportunities into booked business.  The International Inside Sales Consultant serves as the primary point of contact during the sales process and is responsible for creating a positive customer experience while ensuring customers have a clear understanding of Suddath's services, international relocation procedures, and documentation requirements necessary for the movement of household goods worldwide.

The ideal candidate is an energetic, ambitious team player who is motivated by goals and enjoys helping customers navigate important life transitions. This individual may come from an inside sales background and be eager to learn the international moving industry, or from an international moving, move management, or relocation background and be looking to grow into a consultative (B2C) sales role. Most importantly, they are coachable, customer-focused, collaborative, and excited to build a long-term career with Suddath.
This role is part sales consultant, part international relocation advisor, and part customer advocate.
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Sales Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound and outbound international relocation opportunities.
  • Conduct virtual household goods surveys utilizing approved technology platforms.
  • Determine customer needs and recommend appropriate service solutions.
  • Prepare and present international moving estimates and proposals.
  • Negotiate within approved pricing parameters.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual booking goals.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up cadence to maximize conversion rates.
  • Track sales activity and opportunities within CRM systems.

Customer Consultation

  • Educate customers on the international moving process from survey through delivery.
  • Explain service options, transit timelines, and moving expectations.
  • Present Suddath's value proposition and global service capabilities.
  • Build customer trust and confidence throughout the sales process.
  • Address customer questions regarding international relocation procedures.

Documentation & Compliance Support

  • Educate customers regarding import and customs documentation requirements.
  • Explain documentation timelines and customer responsibilities.
  • Assist in gathering preliminary information necessary for accurate pricing and move planning.
  • Set realistic expectations regarding customs regulations and destination requirements.
  • Ensure complete and accurate information is collected prior to handoff to operations teams.

Collaboration & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Partner with international operations, move managers, and pricing teams to deliver timely proposals.
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training, and development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and service standards.

Education & Experience:

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of sales, inside sales, account management, or customer-facing experience.
  • International experience
  • Proven ability to achieve revenue and booking goals.

Preferred

  • International household goods moving experience.
  • Global mobility or relocation industry experience.
  • Freight forwarding or logistics experience.
  • Experience conducting virtual surveys and preparing relocation quotations.
  • Knowledge of customs and international shipping requirements.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain international relocation documents, customer service requirements, pricing proposals, customs guidance, and company procedures.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate written communications, sales follow-up notes, customer correspondence, CRM updates, and routine business reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, internal teams, move managers, pricing partners, and operations personnel in a professional and consultative manner.
  • Ability to present service options, international moving requirements, timelines, and value propositions clearly during virtual consultations and customer interactions.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to international moving estimates, discounts, commissions, percentages, shipment volume, weight, and pricing proposal components.
  • Ability to review pricing information for accuracy and apply basic mathematical concepts necessary to prepare customer quotes, compare service options, and support revenue and booking goals.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to assess customer needs, identify appropriate international relocation solutions, address service questions, and resolve practical sales or customer concerns using available guidelines and resources.
  • Ability to interpret written, verbal, system-based, and schedule-related instructions to support accurate move planning, pricing, documentation collection, and timely handoff to operations teams.

Computer Operations:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, virtual survey technology, communication platforms, and other sales, pricing, move management, and customer record systems used to track opportunities, prepare proposals, document activity, and support the customer relocation process.

Planning/Organization:

  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize customer opportunities, survey appointments, proposal deadlines, documentation needs, and follow-up activities as business needs change throughout the workday.
  • Ability to manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously, organize workflow, maintain accurate CRM records, meet customer response timelines, and ensure timely handoff of complete information to operations teams.
