Job Description
NBCUniversal has an opportunity for a talented individual to join their dynamic Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team. The purpose of this position is to support the Environmental Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) and help ensure legal compliance with all relevant local statutory requirements.
The successful candidate will develop, build, and maintain close relationships with business partners and actively promote health and safety across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC) regions. In addition, they will manage training systems to support internal clients, and facilitate training between third party software platforms and internal clients. The role primarily consists of managing the day-to-day administration tasks for the team throughout the EMEA and APAC regions.
The role will also help to develop, build, and maintain close relationships with key stakeholders and actively promote health and safety across the EMEA / APAC regions and collaborate with other team members globally.
What You'll Do:
- Data management of EHS statistics, events, reports, measurements, compliance calendar, and labour hours in EHS database Benchmark ESG (Gensuite).
- Collaborate with sites to close out open corrective actions in Gensuite resulting from EHS audit/inspection findings.
- Monitor and continually update Gensuite (ATS closures, compliance calendar closures, etc).
- Monitoring and responding to communication to the team as required.
- Working with the regional EHS site contacts and facilities team to close open EHS issues/requests.
- Managing the day-to-day requirements of the Ergonomic Assessment Program, including conducting and managing follow-up of ergonomic workstation assessments, liaising with the external ergonomic consultant, and ensuring that assessment notes are up to date.
- Working in SAP to raise POs and process invoices.
- Ordering various safety and first aid supplies.
- Helping to conduct various inspections (floor walks, first aid room, first aid kits, Automated External Defibrillators (AED)).
- Management of Arch AED program across EMEA / APAC and ordering replacement parts.
- Assisting with development of written EHS policies and work instructions.
- Assisting with compiling data from risk surveys.
- Sending new starter EHS checklists to line managers.
- Participation in accident, incident, and concern investigations.
- Support Business Continuity/Crisis Management and Global Security programs as required.
- Assist sites with Corporate EHS Audit preparation, as directed by EHS leadership.
- Responsibility for the first aid room (ensure that stock remains adequate).
- Organise and facilitate safety meetings for UK (fire wardens, first aiders, EHS Committee, etc).
- Assist with emergency evacuation drills and update relevant persons.
- Work with Director, EHS, EMEA / APAC and Regional EHS site contacts to review training matrices and update online EHS training.
- Work with Director, EHS EMEA / APAC to communicate EHS statutory requirements.
- Review method statements and risk assessments for outside vendors/contractors coming to NBCUniversal premises.
- Assist Director, EHS EMEA / APAC on providing advice on EHS requirements for special events, including site visits, conducting / reviewing risk assessments, providing safety briefings and liaising with appointed event management companies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What You Must Have:
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Life Sciences; Biology or Chemistry degrees strongly preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of EHS related work experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS

- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality work in a timely fashion.
- Must be highly organised and possess strong prioritisation skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Independent problem solving with minimal supervision. This includes the ability to interpret regulations and develop guidance around program implementation.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience and comfort with public speaking.
