Job Description

Hey, hello, hiya, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our headquarters is in sunny Sydney, Australia, and while our team spans the globe, this role is based in Sydney or Melbourne - working alongside our International and Sales teams so we can keep collaboration flowing and strategy close to the people executing it. We support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working within that.

What you'd be doing in this role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

This is an Education Growth strategy and systems role: you'll set the operating model that lifts education growth across every market we're in.

  • Owning Education as a growth vertical internationally - setting the strategy for which markets we scale, in what order, and how.
  • Bringing our country education leads together under one overarching international education strategy - the connective tissue that doesn't exist today.
  • Shifting the focus from "train" to "activate & retain" - embedding Canva as core, everyday workflow for teachers and students across markets, not one-off usage.
  • Prioritising and sequencing market opportunities across regions (APAC, LATAM, EMEA and beyond) based on readiness, opportunity and impact.
  • Owning the integration between education marketing and education content and designing the handoff into Education Sales.
  • Aligning Sales, Marketing, Product, Content and Partnerships around clear, measurable education growth outcomes across markets.
  • Turning local market learnings into a scalable global playbook - feeding what works in one market into the next, without losing the formula that works.
  • Partnering with, and coaching, Country Education Leads and Country Managers to contextualise the central strategy for each market.

You're probably a match if

  • You've owned growth for a whole function, vertical (ideally Education) or market at scale - built the system, not just executed someone else's plan inside it.
  • You've built or scaled a vertical, segment or market at an international or multi-market level and can clearly articulate the growth levers behind it.
  • You think in activation, retention and habit formation - not just awareness or top-line sales.
  • You can zoom from global strategy and market prioritisation right down to what actually lands in a single classroom.
  • You're credible across Education contexts (K-12 and higher ed), or can show you'll get there fast.
  • You navigate grassroots environments (teachers, schools, communities) and strategic ones (partners, stakeholders, government) with equal ease.
  • You thrive in cross-functional environments and can influence without authority - including leaders who don't report to you.
  • You're curious, adaptable, and energised by shaping a vertical that doesn't yet have a fully defined playbook.

About the team

You'll join Canva's International supergroup - a distributed team of growth leaders, marketers and strategists expanding Canva's impact across key global markets. You'll work closely with our Head of International, our Country Education Leads across our growing footprint of markets, Country Managers, and partners in Sales, Product, Marketing, Partnerships and Content to build education into a sustainable, high-impact global growth engine.

What's in it for you?

Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard - and we do - but you'll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a range of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work.

Here's a taste of what's on offer:

  • Equity packages - we want our success to be yours too
  • Inclusive parental leave policy
  • An annual Vibe & Thrive package to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more
  • Flexible leave options that empower you to be a force for good, take time to recharge and supports you personally
