- Serve as the primary employment lawyer for each of the Greenhill international offices.
- Partner with and advise HR colleagues by providing timely and practical advice on a wide variety of employment, contractual, labor, benefits, performance management, leaves, non-solicitation, non-competition, restrictive covenant, termination, and classification matters.
- Advise on new hire offer contracts, including executive employment agreements
- Partner with HR and outside immigration counsel to manage visa and other immigration matters.
- Provide legal advice to HR and other internal stakeholders on employment-related policies, processes, and templates to reflect applicable laws and regulations
- As a member of the Legal Division “Litigation & Employment Team”, you will provide legal support on employment litigation and investigation matters (including leading internal investigations)
- Provide advice to streamline employment processes and practices while remaining compliant with applicable law
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, and proactively prepare to comply with changes in all aspects of the employment life cycle
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by your manager
- At least 5-6 years Post Qualified Experience (PQE) solicitor
- Bachelor of Laws from an accredited law school in the U.K. or EU
- Extensive experience in UK and EU employment law (ideally within a law firm or financial institution). Detailed, country-specific substantive law background is not required for every jurisdiction within the coverage area.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate laws, rules and regulations into practical business solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at presenting legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders
- Ability to work proactively, independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in legal research tools and regulatory databases covering UK and European law
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
