The Role
Are you a strong writer, storyteller, or digital content creator looking to gain real-world experience with a global organization?
As a Communications Intern, you'll join the Water Solutions & Services (WSS) Communications team and gain hands-on experience creating content, supporting employee engagement, analyzing communication performance, and improving the digital employee experience.
You'll own meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced communications professionals, and build a portfolio of work that makes an impact across a global workforce.
Featured Project: Digital Employee Experience & AI Readiness
Help improve how employees find, access, and use information across our SharePoint environment.
You'll:
- Audit and evaluate internal SharePoint content
- Identify outdated or duplicate content and recommend improvements
- Partner with content owners across the business
- Improve navigation, content organization, and employee experience
- Analyze site usage and engagement trends
- Support initiatives that make content more discoverable for AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot
Featured Project: Frontline Storytelling & Employee Engagement (AQUA pros)
Get hands-on experience developing content that highlights the people who keep essential water services running.
You'll:
- Develop AQUA pro stories
- Interview service technicians and field leaders
- Create newsletter and Viva Engage content
- Support frontline-focused campaigns
- Analyze which channels reach technicians most effectively
- Recommend communication improvements based on audience needs
Communications Analytics & Content Operations
Learn how data drives communication strategy.
You'll:
- Produce newsletter
- Track and analyze engagement metrics
- Report monthly communications performance
- Create dashboards and summaries
- Support town halls and campaigns
- Measure story performance and reach
- Use data to make recommendations
What You'll Bring:
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Business, Organizational Communication, or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Interest in employee communications, storytelling, digital content, and analytics
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications preferred
Preferred Skills:
- Writing and editing
- Interviewing and storytelling
- Data analysis and reporting
- SharePoint or web content management
- Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar content creation tools
- Familiarity with AI-enabled content creation tools a plus (Synthesia, Writer, Co-Pilot)
