Who are we?

We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.

Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.

The role
We're looking for an experienced and ambitious Internal Communications & Engagement Manager to join our team and help shape how colleagues experience our strategy, culture and leadership. This is far more than a communications role. It's an opportunity to influence enterprise-wide priorities, support senior leaders, drive engagement and bring big strategic stories to life for colleagues across the business.

You'll work at the centre of some of our most important priorities, helping create meaningful colleague experiences that build understanding, connection, pride and performance.

You’ll be naturally curious about people, culture and communication and enjoy building trusted relationships with stakeholders.

You'll know how to craft compelling stories and engaging experiences, but you'll also understand how communications and engagement can help organisations perform, change and grow.

You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working across multiple priorities and be motivated by making a genuine difference to colleagues and the organisation.

What are we looking for?
This is an opportunity to join a team with a growing influence across the organisation and play a key role in shaping the future colleague experience at Standard Life. You'll work on high-profile priorities, partner with senior leaders, help evolve our culture and contribute to creating a workplace where colleagues can do their best work and thrive.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a visible difference, influence meaningful change and be part of a team shaping the future of the organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

Essential
•    Experience in internal communications, colleague engagement, leadership communications and/or change communications
•    Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
•    Excellent writing, storytelling and presentation skills
•    Experience developing and delivering strategic communications and engagement plans
•    Strong project management and organisational skills
•    Experience using insight, feedback and data to improve communications and engagement activity

Desirable
•    Experience supporting leadership, culture or organisational change programmes
•    Experience working in a large, complex organisation
•    A qualification in communications, marketing, public relations or a related discipline

We want to hire the whole version of you.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.

We’re reviewing applications as they come in and may close this role before the closing date, so apply early to avoid missing out.
