What's so exciting about this role?
Join a driven sales team as a Business Development Manager focused on growing hummgroup’s retailer network. You’ll manage a pipeline of inbound and self-generated leads, converting prospects through confident phone-based selling. Reporting to the Head of Seller Success, you’ll work closely with Account Managers and the Seller Success Team to ensure seamless onboarding for new retail partners.
What Does An Average Day Look Like?
No day is average at humm but here’s an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:
- Identify and generate leads for the acquisition of new retailers.
- Manage leads, both inbound and outbound, through the sales process (via CRM).
- Leverage industry research, existing networks, cold / warm calling, attending meetings, conducting presentations, and attending PD Days and Conferences.
- Meet with and obtain information for the purpose of prospecting and negotiating new deals.
- Prepare customer proposals and negotiate key commercial terms with proposed retailers.
- Work with Account Managers and Seller Success Team to ensure that deals are processed and integrated efficiently.

We are also looking for someone who brings:
- Proven track record in new business development or phone-based sales
- Experience with financial products (BNPL, POS, interest free) - advantageous
- Strong CRM pipeline management (Salesforce or Dynamics preferred)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to perform under pressure and meet targets
