Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are looking for an Internal Behaviors Engineer on Systems Integration and Test to own behaviors and analysis for validating and characterizing our humanoid robot at the platform level. This role is critical in deeply understanding our closed-loop system performance and reliability as our robots transition from build to deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Write and execute robot behaviors to thoroughly validate system performance and reliability
- Perform detailed system level characterization, debugging and root cause analysis.
- Validate and manage end-to-end integration behaviors and testing of full humanoid robot systems, including owning the Robot End-of-Line (EOL) processes.
- Continuously improve EOL test processes through automation, tooling, and enhanced test methodologies.
- Directly interface with engineering, maintenance, and build teams to resolve integration challenges and streamline processes.
- Develop metrics and monitoring systems to evaluate and track fleet performance
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Controls Engineering, Robotics or related fields.
- 3+ years of direct experience with robotic systems integration, controls engineering, and behavior development.
- Experience with robotic control systems, actuator behaviors and kinematics.
- Strong proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging complex robotic systems.
- Fluency in modern C++ and Python
Bonus Qualifications:
- Prior experience working on legged robotics
- Experience managing robot validation processes through production or R&D phases.
- Experience with real-time control systems and model-based control methods.
- Experience integrating into a robotics autonomy stack
- Familiarity with robotic system simulations and behavior optimization tools.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $170,000 - $230,000 annually.
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
