What You'll Be Doing
Auditors at McMaster-Carr apply research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and creative thinking skills to managing risk by supporting process and control improvements across our business. You will leverage and grow project management capabilities and risk management expertise as you collaborate with leadership and process owners across the company. Regardless of your background, you can flourish at McMaster-Carr if you love to learn, do great work, and pursue ambitious goals. A typical day at McMaster-Carr will vary, but you might find yourself doing any of the following:

  • Performing financial and operational audits of varying complexity through planning, fieldwork and reporting phases
  • Partnering with experts on topics like Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Product Compliance to develop relationships and build a comprehensive understanding of the business and enable value-added recommendations
  • Developing and executing Internal Audit practices that enhance control processes and risk management capabilities
  • Communicating audit findings and recommendations to senior leadership teams
  • Collaborating with company leaders and management, serving as a reviewer on critical work related to company controls and risks

  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field
  • A growth-oriented mindset - being open to feedback, learning new skillsets, taking on new responsibilities, and embracing exposure to a variety of financial operations
  • Curiosity and strong attention to detail
  • A high level of autonomy and a proven record of resourcefulness
  • Evidence of commitment and high achievement in extracurricular activities or community service
  • Strong written and verbal communication with an emphasis on being able to translate complex or ambiguous data to key company stakeholders logically, clearly, and concisely.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to embrace and create clarity from ambiguity
  • Knowledge of project management and risk and control frameworks
  • CPA certification and experience at Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting firms preferred, but not required


Be Rewarded
The starting salary range for this role is $108,000-$124,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible for Cash Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund contributions.
