Position Summary:
Participate in the realization of Corporate Audit Services’ (CAS) vision to be a trusted and valued resource that actively contributes to the achievement of PRA Group’s strategic objectives. As assigned and under the direction of Corporate Audit Services for IT management, use efficient, innovative and risk-focused methods for auditing and advisory services of IT systems and processes. Participate in the assessment of management’s compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX). Employ professional curiosity to identify risks, effective mitigation strategies and improvement opportunities Build strong knowledge of the business and IT environment and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders.This position will be a HYBRID role working onsite 3 days per week at our Corporate Headquarters office in Norfolk, VA and then working REMOTE 2 days per week.
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of IT audit experience testing IT Controls (preferred) or Financial Controls
- Some experience in IT audit or IT risk management is preferred for this IT Auditor role
- Basic knowledge of common IT systems, platforms and related governance frameworks (NIST, ISO)
- General knowledge of IT audit concepts and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Teams)
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment, collaborating with both colleagues and business unit personnel to complete assignments within established timeframes
- Experience with data analytics tools such as SQL, PowerBI, audit/GRC software is a plus
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CIA, or CPA are a plus
- Financial services industry experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience in accounting, technology, or business-related field
Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Identify risks and controls within business processes and contribute to their evaluation to arrive at an audit opinion
- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks related to operational and SOX audits
- Interviewing business colleagues to gain understanding of process, data flows, risks and controls
- Observing and documenting processes (flowcharting)
- Testing and documenting of controls within established timeframes
- Maintaining evidence of audit testing
- Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of management’s remediation efforts and implementation of audit recommendations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in IT and in internal auditing.
- Complexity of tasks assigned, and the degree of supervision required will evolve over time in line with experience.
