Summary of Position
The Internal Audit Intern will assist with the planning, execution and conclusion of audit projects, including operational and financial reviews, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal controls testing and direct assistance procedures to external auditors, among other activities.
Intern Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with performing SOX, financial, operational and/or other audits and projects in a professional manner to evaluate the existence, efficiency, and effectiveness of internal control procedures.
Document workpapers in a thorough and timely manner, consistent with Internal Audit policies and industry standards.
Perform high quality, risk-focused fieldwork, in accordance with policies, methodologies, and standards in order to identify meaningful issues, risks and other exposures in the area of the company under review.
Review workflows and business processes as well as evaluate the adequacy of internal controls.
Qualifications
Major(s): Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Class Year(s): Rising Junior, Rising Senior, Recent Graduate
GPA: Min 3.0
Basic critical thinking and analytical skills to help evaluate information received and identify critical trends in the information being reviewed
Basic understanding of accounting and financial statements
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products
Data analytical skills a plus
Previous internships in Auditing, Accounting or Finance preferred
Effective Communication skills
Self-starter – ability to drive work and manage time and tasks effectively
Demonstrate leadership skills: agility, building trusting relationships, decision making skills, and resilience
