Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas is seeking an Undergraduate Junior or Senior to participate in a two month paid Summer Internship Program working within our Internal Audit Department.  As part of this internship, you will gain knowledge of internal audit operations by working closely with FHLB Dallas’ Internal Audit staff. This role will perform professional auditing work of moderate difficulty and complexity and provide assistance to other professional auditors.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN            

  • Develop an understanding of the FHLB Dallas audit approach, methodology and tools.
  • Under the direction of department management, participate in audits of financial, compliance, operational, and Information Technology (IT) areas to determine if operating units are in compliance with Bank policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations and GAAP.  
  • Assist in performance of tests of internal controls related to internal audits and SOX testing.
  • Prepares audit work papers which document audit procedures performed and results of testing, in accordance with departmental guidelines.        
  • Assist in preparing written audit recommendations and audit reports that will be presented to the auditee.    
  • Establish working relationships with client personnel.    
  • Apply concepts of risk assessment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active and enrolled student in an accredited college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Classified as a junior or senior
  • Overall GPA of 3.25 or better
  • Completed coursework must include:
  • one intermediate financial accounting courses, one audit related course and one computer science course
  • Proficient in MS Office (emphasis on Excel and Word)
  • Working knowledge of audit software (such as ACL)  is a plus
  • Demonstrates high degree of integrity and possesses the ability to complete challenging assignments with a high level of confidentiality
