Position Summary
The IT Intern will support Optimal Networks’ internal IT operations and client-facing technology services. This role is ideal for a motivated individual pursuing a career in IT who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, service-oriented environment. The intern will assist with hardware and software support, participate in technology projects, and work with our Support Center, Engineering and Procurement teams.
Location: Rockville MD (5 days a week)
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 (Full Time)
Travel Required: Less than 5%
Pay: $20/Hr
Responsibilities
This position has the following responsibilities.
· Provide technical assistance to staff on hardware and software issues.
· Participate in IT projects such as device imaging, deployment, and upgrades.
· Support Microsoft 365 applications and Windows-based environments.
· Work in a ticketing system, tracking changes, and resolving issues.
· Maintain inventory records and assist with asset management.
· Resolve Phishing alerts and assist with identifying cyber incidents.

Reports to: The Support Center Manager

· Currently pursuing, or a recent graduate with a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

· CompTIA A+ Certification
· 3.8 or higher GPA
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
