Systems Improvement (SI) works at the federal, state, county, and Tribal levels to improve and transform child welfare. We are in search of a graduate-level SI Operations Intern in our Seattle, WA Headquarters office. Under the supervision and direction of the Senior Director of SI Services, the intern will contribute to key projects related to Theory of Change, project measurement, and reporting. This role will work closely with the SI Operations Team, Strategic Consultants /Work Lead, and Technology Services throughout the project with the goal of improving how data are collected and reported. Projects will lead to further opportunities to participate in connected work efforts around data management, reporting, tool assessment and development, and training.

  • With guidance and support from the Common Measures workgroup, maintain a tracking system for collecting quarterly progress report data.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Consultants to seek feedback on the type of data collected and the flow of the process.
  • Create reports for various stakeholders based on the information collected.
  • Participate in the Common Measures workgroup, provide regular updates on the progress of the pilot project, and contribute to the workgroups thinking in how to scale the project.
  • Participate in measurement workgroups and projects related to tracking projects and documenting jurisdictional and national work overtime.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Graduate level business administration, finance, child welfare, data analysis/research experience (quantitative or qualitative) or related field. Graduated or current students encouraged to apply.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Ability to learn data analytic tools.
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability for occasional Travel may be necessary.

This position will be offered for approximately 20-30 hours per week for a duration of 9-12 months depending on availability of candidate. This opportunity is paid an hourly wage of $21.30 to $25.00 per hour depending on level of education.
