The Strategic Global Sourcing Intern will partner closely with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional teams to support sourcing strategies, supplier development, and process improvement initiatives across a growing, global organization. This role will contribute to new product development activities, supplier qualification, cost and quote analysis, and procurement for development builds while building analytical, communication, and professional skills. This position provides exposure to strategic sourcing operations and opportunities to develop leadership capabilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in cross-functional meetings to support new product development initiatives
Assist with supplier qualification and part approval processes (e.g., PPAPs)
Research and compare supplier quotes to support sourcing decisions
Procure and track parts for development builds and prototypes
Communicate with suppliers on part status and delivery updates
Conduct research on supply chain and sourcing structures to support strategic initiatives
Work closely on AI implementation and development related to the NPD sourcing environment
Support process improvement projects and other tasks assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Enrolled in degree program focused on Business, Operations Management, Information Systems, Computer Science and/or Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Team-oriented with a proactive, innovative mindset
High ethical standards and interest in leadership development
Experience with SAP, Ariba, or APICS/MAPICS coursework is a plus
Office Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
