This position is a 12-week paid internship located in Bloomington, Indiana. It is offered for a period extending from mid-May through mid-August (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options, an assigned mentor, capstone presentation, and intern events. If working onsite, you will also have access to a fitness center, an onsite cafeteria option, and a one-time housing stipend. All internships provide hands-on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Statistics and Data Science Intern, you'll be diving deep into the heart of medical manufacturing, ensuring the efficacy and reliability of our products. You’ll be a part of our statistics and data science team, working on high-level inference and drawing powerful conclusions that will shape the future of medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manufacturing Statistics: Evaluate manufacturing processes, identify areas of improvement, and assist in implementing statistical methods to increase quality and efficiency.
2. Advanced Inference: Work with cutting-edge statistical techniques to derive insights from complex data sets, directly impacting medical research and development.
3. Collaboration: Partner with a diverse team of experts across multiple functions, including engineering, production, and R&D.
4. Data Visualization: Create compelling visual presentations to convey statistical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications• All candidates should have an interest in a career in the Life Sciences field, a willingness to take initiative, and an ability to work well with others
• Passion for statistics and data analysis
• Basic understanding of statistical tools and techniques; preferred minimum of 2 statistics courses
• Strong communication skills and ability to present complex data simply
• Focus area of study in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field
• Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior year the following fall semester or entering graduate school; candidates who graduate the spring semester before this internship are also eligible
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred
• All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration
• Multiple disciplines will be considered (e.g., Marketing, Life Sciences, General Business, and Management)
