Job Description
As a robotics engineer, the candidate will design and deploy an automated disassembly system leveraging Kassow collaborative robots (cobots) and CtrX control platforms. This role focuses on developing sustainable solutions for recycling and remanufacturing, integrating AI-driven automation with industrial robotics to optimize precision, safety, and efficiency in disassembly workflows. As an Intern, Robotics Engineer for Automated Disassembly you will support the following key tasks in collaboration with experience team members.
- Program and configure Kassow 7-axis cobots for disassembly tasks (e.g., EV battery recycling) using ROS, C++, and CtrX automation frameworks.
- Integrate vision models for self-adaptive disassembly strategies and multi-modal sensor data (vision, force/torque) for adaptive task execution.
- Optimize robotic hand-eye coordination using vision-language models (e.g., CLIP) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for task prioritization.
- Validate system performance through simulation (Gazebo, MoveIt) and real-world testing.
- Project updates, presentation, support demonstrations for project stakeholders
Qualifications
- Able to work full time for a period of 6 months (01.04.2025 to 31.10.2025)
- Undergraduate/graduate studies in Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Computer science.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, ROS2
- Hands-on experience with Cobots
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and vision systems (YOLO, SegmentAnything)
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and great problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
