The opportunity
You will be participating in a dedicated and exciting role as a Research Science Intern in our Ad Tech team this summer. Join us in exploring groundbreaking solutions in digital advertising alongside a multi-functional team of engineers, scientists, and product managers. You will engage in high-impact projects that innovate within the realms of machine learning, optimization, and causal inference, all within large-scale, real-world systems. This internship offers a meaningful chance to apply your research abilities to real, pivotal challenges in advertising technology, directly influencing how ads are delivered, measured, and optimized on our platforms.

What you'll be doing

• Design and conduct experiments to boost ad performance and efficiency.
• Develop scalable models and algorithms targeting optimized bidding and auction dynamics.
• Work with engineering teams to turn research ideas into practical applications.
• Analyze extensive datasets using advanced statistical and machine learning methods.
• Effectively communicate findings to a diverse range of key decision makers.

What we're looking for

• Background in machine learning, optimization, statistics, or econometrics.
• Ability to work effectively with large datasets using tools like Python, R, SQL, or Spark.
• Effective written/verbal communication to articulate complex concepts.
• A proven track record of conducting high-quality research.
• A forward thinker who shows potential for solving real-world problems.

You might also have

• Experience in advertising, marketplaces, or recommendation systems.
• Familiarity with causal inference techniques like A/B testing or uplift modeling.
• Sensible and dedicated approach with a passion for innovative problem-solving that delivers value.
