Intern: Research on CFD Analysis with Hybrid Mesh Adaptation for High-Speed Configurations

Job Description:

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc (AMA) is seeking a part-time intern to support research on Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis with Hybrid Mesh Adaptation for High-Speed Configurations at NASA Langley Research Center. The development of new hypersonic capabilities requires the advance of fundamental research to improve the analysis and design tools. One of the main challenges that impacts the design of hypersonic vehicles is the prediction of aerothermal loads and fluid-thermal-structural interactions (FTSI) in high-speed flows. The intern will explore multifidelity computational models with hybrid mesh adaptation for aerothermodynamic analysis and apply them to relevant hypersonic configurations.  Salary range: $25-$27.69/hour

Qualifications

The role requires at least a rudimentary understanding of computational fluid dynamics and knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Matlab, Python, C/C++, or Fortran. Prior experience with running large scale CFD solver will be a strong plus.
