The Opportunity

We are seeking a Student Intern to support public awareness, stakeholder engagement, and outreach initiatives across the U.S.

This role provides hands-on experience in community engagement, public awareness programs, regulatory compliance support, communications, event coordination, and stakeholder relations. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to support outreach efforts, maintain stakeholder records, coordinate events, and help strengthen relationships with landowners, emergency responders, and community stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Assist in planning and executing public awareness campaigns for landowners, emergency responders, and community stakeholders
• Support the coordination of liaison meetings, community events, and educational outreach activities
• Maintain records of stakeholder interactions and outreach activities to support compliance requirements
• Contribute to the development of communication materials, presentations, and reports
• Participate in cross-functional meetings with Operations, Land, Communications, and other business partners
• Research industry best practices and regulatory developments related to public awareness programs
• Provide administrative and logistical support for public awareness initiatives
• Support stakeholder engagement activities and community outreach programs

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Communications, Business, Public Relations, Environmental Studies, Public Affairs, or related degree program
• Completion of at least one academic term prior to the start of the work term in May 2027
• Returning to full-time studies immediately following the work term
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the work term

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting community engagement, communications, public awareness, outreach, or stakeholder relations activities
• Experience preparing presentations, reports, communications materials, or other business documents
• Experience coordinating meetings, events, or project activities
• Interest in public affairs, stakeholder engagement, communications, regulatory affairs, or community relations
• Demonstrate a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting
• Exhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives
• Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment
• Commitment to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity
• Experience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities
• Ability to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills
• Reflective and committed to continuous improvement and personal development
